Wood has a long and fascinating life cycle. From pre-historic times man has used this raw material, which is green and 100% recyclable. This value must be preserved because trees utilise solar power to turn CO₂ and water into glucose, producing oxygen as a waste material, the element most necessary for our survival. Oikos is proud to have been awarded the FSC marking, which identifies products that contain wood that comes from forests that are managed correctly and responsibly, according to the strictest environmental, social and economic standards.

The Forest Stewardship Council a.c. (FSC) evaluates the forest of origin with the participation and the consent of social parties, independently and in line with the principles of good forest management. FSC is an international organisation, it is independent and no-profit. It is made up of environmentalist groups, social groups, forest owners, indigenous communities, companies specialising in the processing and trade of wood, scientists and engineers who work together to improve the management of forest areas all over the world.
